CAWAS represented by the CEO at the UN Women workshop in Yaoundé
CAWAS, represented by the CEO Leinyuy Saber Emelienne honored an invitation from UN Women from 25th to 27th Sept 2024 in Yaoundé, to participate in a workshop on 'Supporting women and girls' engagement in peacebuilding processes in Cameroon'.

A 3 day interactive workshop with the various UN agencies, women CSO leaders and youths, as we revisited the international and national human rights instruments and principles providing for WPS, UNSC 1325, and the various pillars (prevention, participation, protection and relief and recovery). Key concepts in conflict prevention and peacebuilding like conflict analysis and prevention, early warning, mediation, dialogue, violent extremism, and hate speech, were addressed.

The workshop ended with participants designing advocacy messages on issues affecting women, girls, people living with disabilities and the minorities to the appropriate authorities présent during the closing ceremony.
We are grateful to the organisers for the relentless efforts they make to make the voices of women, girls, CSOs, grassroots women, WLWD and the minorities to be heard and included during major decision making.
